Shelly Dupont

Join us in recognizing our May Pit Boss Hero of the Month, Shelly Dupont!

Superintendent Dupont has been a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 36 years, serving in five Canadian provinces and remote fly-in communities throughout her career.

She was nominated for Pit Boss Heroes by her husband who says she chose her career path out of a desire to assist people experiencing difficult circumstances, often because of situations over which they have little or no control. This is what led her to help establish a Victim Services unit in the Province of Manitoba early in her career.

Off duty, she holds a few other titles, including wife, stepmother, and grandmother. She also dedicated some of her time off to earning a Master of Laws degree specializing in Constitutional Law.

In addition to her academic pursuits, she enjoys a wide range of hobbies: scuba diving, kayaking, photography, baking, pottery, and entertaining. Her husband says the last one is possibly her favorite, since it brings her joy to plan and prepare meals for friends, family, and neighbors.

While he says that he’s more likely to be the one behind the grill, she enjoys the time spent together cooking on their assortment of grills and having others over to take part in the meals they create.

Thank you for your service, Superintendent Shelly Dupont!
