Katie Peterson

We are excited to announce our March Pit Boss Hero of the Month: Katie Peterson! 

Katie works as an ER nurse and a first responder for the Saxeville Fire Department in Wisconsin. She has served in those roles for 6 and 4 years, respectively.  

This particular career path was sparked by a desire to follow in her mother’s footsteps to become an RN and to serve her community and give back.  

She was nominated to be a Pit Boss Hero of the Month for “always putting her patients first and excelling in patient care.” 

Furthering her education is also important to Katie, drawing inspiration from her patients to take additional courses and continue her education with the ultimate goal of taking the best possible care of her patients that she can.  

She was nominated by a family member who noted that Katie stands out in her field for her ability to share what she’s learned with her coworkers, saying everyone enjoys working alongside her. They also noted how well she gets along with patients and her ability to calm them and their family members during times of stress.  

When she isn’t working, Katie enjoys being part of Pit Boss Nation, regularly throwing down meals on her Pit Boss smoker. Her favorite thing to make is chicken wings, infusing them with the smoky flavor she loves.
